bernard.che.wisc.edu

Bernard (named after George Bernard Dantzig) is available for running heavy computational jobs. Bernard contains 32 processor cores (2 sockets and 16 cores each) using Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2698 v3 @ 2.30GHz. It is also configured with various optimization solvers including Gurobi, Ipopt, PIPS-NLP, DSP, and CPLEX.

baptiste.che.wisc.edu

Baptiste (named after Jean-Baptiste Fourier) is available for running heavy computational jobs and also hosts the JuliaBox server which allows users to run Julia notebooks through their web browser. Access to JuliaBox or to the machine via ssh is restricted to the CAE network. Baptiste contains 32 processor cores (2 sockets and 16 cores each) using Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2698 v3 @ 2.30GHz. It is also configured with various optimization solvers including Gurobi, Ipopt, PIPS-NLP, DSP, and CPLEX.

hendrik.che.wisc.edu

Hendrik (named after Hendrik Bode) is available to run moderate computational jobs and currently hosts our Confluence server. Access via ssh is restricted to the CAE network. If you do not have a CAE account, contact Victor Zavala for access. Once you are in the CAE network you can either: i) connect through an ethernet port in Engineering Hall with a registered device, ii) use a CAE computer to connect, iii) connect to the CAE network through the VPN client (staff and graduate students only) or iv) first connect through a CAE Linux machine (best-tux.che.wisc.edu) and ssh from there.

nightingale.che.wisc.edu

Nightingale is available to run GPU jobs specifically. Access via ssh is restricted to the CAE network. Nightingale has 64 processor cores with 256 GB RAM with 2 RTX 6000 GPUs. Nightingale is loaded with CUDA and CUdnn to run machine learning jobs. Please contact Shengli (Bruce) Jiang for the account and environment setup.

chtc.cs.wisc.edu

CHTC is available to run high-throughput multi-GPU jobs. CHTC is a shared GPU computing infrastructure at UW-Madison. You can apply for a CHTC account here [link]. Contact Shengli (Bruce) Jiang for environment setup.
